Parent Survey - Your Comments
Spring Term 2026
We are very grateful to all the families who took the time to complete our annual parent survey (26/84 responses were received). Your feedback helps us celebrate what we are doing well and identify areas where we can continue to improve. Last year, the comments in the survey suggested better communication regarding future plans. We have ensured further reminders are sent when important communication is issued to help ensure messages are not missed. All parents/carers have been given the opportunity to share their views on the recent amalgamation that has taken place in addition to an open invitation to be part of the working party to help steer this change.
We are committed to listening to the views of our parents and acting on feedback where possible.
We are delighted to report that:
- 100% strongly agree that they were happy with their child's transition into Reception/Foundation Stage.
- 44% agree or strongly agree that children are taught well at this school.
- 89% agree or strongly agree that there is a good range of subjects available to children at this school.
- 44% agree or strongly agree that children do well at this school.
- 100% agree or strongly agree that children can take part in clubs and activities at this school.
- 33% agree or strongly agree that the school has high expectations for children.
- 100% strongly agree that staff are sensitive and supportive to children at times of extended periods of parental absence for those families in the Armed Forces.
- 100% are satisfied or very satisfied with the quality of provision at our wraparound care.
Here are some of our parental comments:
A number of parents think breakfast club is ‘brilliant’ and that children love doing PE activities with Mr Hodgson as part of this.
Other parents have commented on what we do well:
“Creating a family feel to the school. Teachers being familiar with all students and taking an interest in achievements in and out of school.”
“It provides a safe positive learning environment for their children.”
“Learning and care for the children. Tailored send plans, working with parents to improve school life for the children and work on their additional needs. Great working environment for the children. Very responsive with any issues raised. Listen, care and do their best for the children.”

Through the survey and your comments, we have recognised there is improvement to be made with the following:

Further action |

For family assemblies to be re-instated. |
These have traditionally been held on a Friday afternoon but have not occurred due to having children split across the 2 sites and it has been difficult to organise effectively. |
These will be re-instated now that the children are all on one site and will continue next year with pupils Y1 – Y6. When the EYFS Centre opens, there will be opportunities for parents to be regularly invited in to share in celebrations. |
|
Opening up the playground in a morning to avoid children lining up outside on the path. |
We have a 10 minute window for parents to drop off at school (8:45 – 8:55) therefore there is no need for parents to line up their children at 8:40 or earlier. We also have breakfast club available for anyone who needs to drop children off earlier than this. |
As the school has grown, we are now opening up the back gate each morning (8:45 – 8:55) so you have an option of a quieter entrance away from the main road. A member of staff is also there who can take messages to pass onto the class teacher should you need this. |
|
Parents don’t always get the chance to speak to the class teacher. |
In a morning, 2 members of staff are at the front gate and 1 member of staff is at the back gate. They are there to pass on messages to the class teacher. On an evening, all class teachers see their classes out and are available to talk. You can also message school via MCAS. |
We are seeing how effectively the MCAS messaging system works over the coming months as this is a new way of communicating. Please remember, parents are also welcome to make an appointment to have a face to face meeting or receive a telephone call from the class teacher – just ask at the office! |
