Our School Vision

Group of children outside

At Leeming St John's Church of England Primary School our vision, "Together we love, learn, grow and wonder," is rooted in the belief that every person is created and loved by God.

The Bible teaches that we are called to live as God's children, showing love, kindness, and respect to everyone.

John 13:34

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."

Together we love, learn, grow and wonder.

School Vision Explained

Love - The Parable of the Good Samaritan

heartLove reminds us to follow Jesus’ example. The Parable of the Good Samaritan shows that loving others means helping anyone in need, even those who are different from us. This is further modelled when Jesus washes his disciples’ feet, a powerful act of humility and servant-hearted love. By serving others in this way - putting their needs before our own - we reflect Christ’s love in action. By being compassionate and caring, we build a community where everyone is valued and supported.

Learn - Gift of Wisdom and Understanding

open bookLearn reflects the gift of wisdom and understanding from God. By exploring, asking questions, and discovering new things, we grow in knowledge and faith.

For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. (Proverbs 2:6)

Grow - Develop in Wisdom, Character and Relationships

sunflowerGrow shows that, like Jesus, we are meant to develop in wisdom, character and relationships.  Through courage and perseverance, we become the best versions of ourselves, like the image in the Psalms of a tree planted by streams of water, which produces fruit at the right time and stays strong and healthy. As we are continually ‘fed’ by what is good- through learning, faith and supportive relationships - we are strengthened to flourish and live with purpose.

That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither - whatever they do prospers. (Psalm 1:3)

Wonder - Celebrate God's Creation

World 6aWonder celebrates God’s creation and inspires awe, curiosity and reflection. It encourages us to explore the world and think about life’s big questions, deepening our sense of meaning and purpose.

Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? (Isaiah 40:26)

Together - Where Everyone Can Flourish

togetherBy doing all these things together, we live as a community where everyone belongs and can flourish, guided by God’s love.

Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. (1 Corinthians 12:12)
