Sports Premium Funding

Since 2013, the government has  provided additional funding to improve the  provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools in England.

This funding - provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport - is allocated to primary school head teachers. The money must be used to improve the provision of P.E. and school sport.

P.E. and school sport play a very important part in the life of Leeming St John's Church of England Primary School. We believe that P.E. and school sport contribute to the holistic development of our children and through participation, our children build and learn more about our Christian values and our Building Learning Power skills such as collaboration and resilience.

Prior to our amalgamation, the following documents evaluate how our school spent its allocation of  PE and Sports Premium Funding for the previous academic years; the effect on pupils' PE and sport participation and attainment; how we make sure these improvements are sustainable

Please note that the next Sports Premium Report will be uploaded in July 2026. This will reflect the amalgamation, in line with the DfE’s accountability timetable for this funding.
